Case Study

I Was At My Wit's End

"Hi, my name is Terra. I began working with Danny when my son was 14 years old as an eighth grader in junior high, and I had arrived at my wit's end on how to find support and guidance for my family and my son, there was tension in the home. I was being contacted regularly by school. And the work with Danny helped give me the perspective that I needed to start creating the guidance and support that my son, that helped my son and our family to get through some of the tougher periods.

Now we have the tools that we need when we find these moments where emotions overwhelm the situation the language that Danny uses, any area there it's over and over and over again, until I was able to unfold some of the patterns I was using in the home and restore, restructure them to be supportive to myself and to my son.

And we worked with Danny for six months and it absolutely changed the home environment and how to be at even more clear on how to even be a better advocate for my son in the school system. And I just can't speak highly enough about the support that Danny offers in this coaching and the perspective that he gives on how to better support your, your child's wellbeing.

"Through AE, I learned it wasn't the behavior that was the problem. It was what was triggering the behavior. I've had to explain this to family members and friends who say, 'Why don't you make her do it? Just take away the internet, or just take her devices away, or refuse to let her do X, Y, or Z?' They don't understand."

Who Our Coaching Is and Isn't For

Understanding our service boundaries helps ensure we can provide the best support

Coaching Is For...

  • Families seeking ongoing support and practical strategies for autism-related challenges
  • People who can plan ahead and schedule appointments with at least 24 hours notice
  • Those willing to actively participate in the coaching process (even if your child isn't ready to engage yet)
  • Clients who can regularly work within our availability (9am-5pm Pacific Time, Monday-Friday)
  • Those seeking experienced guidance based on lived experience, not medical advice

"If you're looking for practical, experience-based guidance and are willing to actively participate in the process, our coaching can be transformative for your family."

Coaching Is Not For...

  • Those needing emergency or crisis intervention services — if you're in crisis, please contact emergency services
  • People seeking immediate, on-demand responses. We require 24-hour notice for phone appointments.
  • Those seeking medical, therapeutic, or legal advice. We are not doctors, therapists, or lawyers
  • Clients who need regular support outside of our business hours (9am-5pm Pacific Time, Monday-Friday)
  • Parents who are completely unwilling to engage in learning new strategies (but we absolutely help parents whose kids are resistant!)

"If you're in need of immediate or emergency assistance, we recommend contacting a licensed medical professional or emergency services."

Important Note About Our Service

Our coaching is designed to complement, not replace, professional healthcare services. While we can help with daily challenges, communication strategies, and practical autism support, we cannot provide clinical advice or emergency intervention.

In extenuating circumstances, we may be available outside regular hours, but this should not be expected as part of our standard service. We're most effective when working with clients who can plan ahead and actively engage in the coaching process.

"AE gave me the tools, support, encouragement, and belief I required to show up as the loving, compassionate, emotionally sovereign parent (and human) I've always dreamed of being.

Before I found AE, I felt I'd tried everything... courses, behavior modification plans, medications, therapists, extra curricular activities.… so many things. Everything before AE felt like a bandaid."

What type of advice can I expect?

We are not doctors, lawyers, therapists, or medical professionals. We don't provide medical, legal, or therapeutic advice and do not provide medical treatment including medication, diagnosis, therapy, or other medical interventions.
